The Resilience of a Mother and Daughter

Tiffany and Tatyana came to Family Promise after spending a little over 1 year in the shelter system. She was excited to have a smaller living arrangement that provided a safe space to gather her thoughts and work on housing and employment goals. During her case management meetings, the focus was on her recent physical challenges. We also looked at her many strengths. She possesses genuine kindness and the ability to help people through her professional and considerate personality. We discussed how this skill, along with others, would make her an excellent front desk or administrative assistant.  And allow her to work at fast-food jobs.

She began looking for jobs where she could start a career in a hotel front desk position. She landed a job in a nearby city where she has a family. They offered her a place to stay while she starts her career. They will have their own space and be able to put the pieces back together. We submitted a referral to Family Reunification at Family Promise and helped pay transportation costs to get them to their new home. Her new job began the following week.

Hats off to Tiffany and Tatyana on their new journey! May your new job bring you financial stability that provides opportunity for advancement. Tatyana, we are looking forward to hearing about how your new high school is this fall. Wishing you many new friends there, great success, and future happiness.
