Family Promise of Greater Denver Hosts Annual Resource & Back-to-School Fair

Family Promise of Greater Denver recently welcomed current and former program families to its annual Resource and Back-to-School Fair—a day of practical support, connection, and celebration as families prepare for the school year ahead.

The fair provided families with much-needed backpacks and school supplies, along with books, food, giveaways, games, and opportunities to spend time together. Families were also able to access school enrollment assistance and connect with resources that can help make the transition into a new school year a little easier.

More than a distribution event, the fair created space for fellowship. Children enjoyed the fun activities and games, while parents and caregivers connected with staff, volunteers, and one another. The event shows Family Promise’s devotion to supporting families not only during moments of housing instability, but throughout their ongoing journeys moving toward stability and success.

A Community Effort

This annual event was made possible through the assistance and partnership of the Guest Advisory Board (GAB), the Family Promise Board of Directors, Family Promise staff, Denver Public Library, and local volunteers. Their time, generosity, and care helped create a welcoming experience for every family who attended.

Evergreen generously covered the cost of food for the event, ensuring families could share a meal and enjoy the day together.

Preparing Families for Success

Back-to-school costs can place added pressure on family budgets. By providing backpacks, supplies, books, enrollment support, and access to community resources, the fair helped ease that burden while giving children an uplifting and supportive start to the school year.
